About Extra Space Storage
Extra Space Storage sits on Grand Ave in West Des Moines, and it's a self-storage facility that also allows vehicles in its drive-up units. That detail matters if you're figuring out where the rig goes. Units come in small, medium and large sizes. Reviews land around 4.2 stars from 125 people, and the picture is mixed. Several mention a helpful employee who set up an account quickly, and one long-time renter praised how smooth a company transition went, along with the new gate access. Others describe work orders that didn't get done and a manager who missed a scheduled appointment. Unit condition comes up often in the feedback, both good and bad. There are office hours rather than 24/7 access, so plan around that. Read the recent reviews yourself before you commit, since the experiences vary quite a bit.

“I’ve had my unit since last summer before it changed companies. I’m very impressed with how the transition went, honestly I’m not good at always checking my emails so I didn’t even realize it had changed.” – Kimberly F., Edited 5 months ago, on Google
“Easy process start to finish. Clean unit. Sturdy and secure lock. Best expirence with a storage storage facility I've ever had. I recommend to anyone in the Des Moines area needing a good storage facility. 5 stars earned for sure .” – Emily J., Edited 8 months ago, on Google
“Overall a good experience. Getting help by talking to an AI person was about as good as could be expected and I was transferred to a real person quite quickly—and they were helpful.” – Colin M., a month ago, on Google
