About Solid Ground Storage
Solid Ground Storage sits on US-290 in Elgin and has been at it for a while, 25 years now. The main draw for RV owners is the outside space: covered or open parking and drive-up spots that fit boats, RVs, motorcycles and trailers up to 12x40. There is also an indoor climate-controlled building on the property. The lot is fenced with code entry and cameras, and lights stay on so you can see what you are doing after dark. Gates run 6 am to 10 pm daily. You can rent online without walking into an office, which a few reviewers mention liking. Reviewers most often bring up the staff. The word helpful comes up again and again, and one person said the managers sorted out access for a family member within twenty minutes without anyone needing to show up in person. Others call the place clean and say they felt safe there at any hour. One complaint stands out: paying after 5 pm may leave a lock on your door until the next morning. Call ahead if you are renting late.
