What's available
The three facilities in New Baden break down to two covered options, one indoor building, and two outdoor yards, so some places offer more than one type. Superior Storage 160 holds a perfect 5.0 from four reviews and handles covered, indoor, and outdoor rigs, boats included. Haashold Storage & Outdoor Living Solutions also lists covered and outdoor space with boat parking. Abundance of Storage has eleven reviews and a 4.5 rating. None of the three advertises 24/7 gate access, so confirm office hours before you plan a late drop-off or an early trip out.
Picking your spot
Southern Illinois sun is hard on gelcoat, decals, and tires, so covered space earns its keep if the budget allows. Indoor storage goes further, keeping hail and winter ice off the roof and away from seams. Outdoor is the cheapest route and fine for a rig you use often, but plan on washing and waxing more and covering the tires. Ask each facility about the surface, gravel or pavement, and whether the gate locks after hours. A battery maintainer and a little mouse control go a long way during the off months.
Around town
New Baden is a short hop from Scott Air Force Base and the larger metro area, which makes it a practical base if you are stationed nearby or passing through on I-64. The nearby count of twelve facilities gives you fallback options if the three in town are full, especially for indoor space, which tends to fill first. Compare reviews and drive by before committing. Ask what the contract says about access, insurance, and giving notice, and get the monthly rate in writing so nothing changes on you mid-season.
