About Grandfather Self Storage
Grandfather Self Storage has served the Banner Elk area for more than 30 years, and the place has had significant upgrades since January 2019. The climate-controlled units run with heat, AC and humidity control, and drive-up units are available too. A security system was part of the upgrades. Reviewers keep coming back to the staff. Judy gets named for helping people sort out what to rent, even over the phone from out of state. Hayley and Aaron show up in reviews as friendly and quick to get someone set up in a unit. People describe the property as clean and easy to access, and one reviewer rented a 5 x 10 and said it worked out great. Others mention freshly cleaned units with new walls, and a few note how fast the online rental and signing process went. Beyond storage, the office handles packing and shipping, including licensed FedEx services, and mailboxes. Online payments are accepted. The office has set hours rather than 24/7 access. There's a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot. If you want to know what's open right now, call the office once and they'll tell you.
