About Nellis Outdoor Recreation
Nellis Outdoor Recreation sits on Nellis AFB and handles both outdoor gear rentals and outdoor storage for RVs and trailers. Reviewers mention renting kayaks, boats, campers, trailers and camping gear, and the staff get called friendly and helpful over and over. One person said an employee helped with tie-down straps in 115 degree heat. Storage is where the reviews split. One owner called the trailer registration process poor, noting weekday hours of 1000 to 1630 and that you have to bring the trailer in to register, so the office can measure it. Another pointed out getting into the spot can be tight. A different reviewer wished boat and camper inspections could happen the same day as pickup instead of two days out. On the plus side, people like the range of rental options and the prices, and a key drop box is now available. One 36-year Air Force member called it the best equipped and most active outdoor program they have seen on any base. If you are active duty or otherwise eligible, it is worth a look.
