About Purdy Clean Car Wash & Storage
Purdy Clean is a self-storage and car wash operation on the Barstow side, and it handles RV, boat, and auto storage along with the wash bays. Reviews split cleanly between the storage side and the wash side, and the storage customers are the happier ones. One reviewer called it an outstanding storage facility and praised the staff by name for helping when a truck broke down. The wash is the self-serve kind, the pull-in stalls where you do the work. The machine takes cards, bills, or quarters, and there is a minimum to start. Regulars rate it above the other self-serve option in town and mention friendly workers and a clean lot. Not everyone agrees. Some complaints about pressure, a brush that scratched paint, and a card reader that ate money show up too. It is a working lot rather than a showplace, and the storage reputation carries it. If you are parking a rig or washing one before a desert drive, this is the practical stop in Barstow.

“Well this is the better of our two options for self serve car washes. Last time I went there was no soap in the wash cycle but that was a first I'll still go here instead of that sketchy one.” – SoCal r., Edited 5 years ago, on Google
“Absolutely outstanding storage facility. Iris was so kind and went out of her way to help me when my truck broke down. Fantastic customer service, above and beyond what should be expected. Margaret was also so very helpful.” – Joshua L., a year ago, on Google
“Self-service car wash, the type with the stall you pull into and do the work yourself. The machine in the stall takes credit card, bills, or quarters. However, $7.00 minimum is required to start the equipment.” – Candace 6., a year ago, on Google
