Covered versus indoor
Covered is the practical middle ground here. You get a roof over the rig, which blocks the worst of the Arizona UV and keeps hail off the roof and skylights, but the sides stay open to blowing dust. Indoor costs more and suits a rig you want to keep clean between trips or one with decals and paint you care about. If you go covered or outdoor, plan on washing the roof and treating the seals a couple times a year. Dust works its way into everything, and sun does the rest.
Before you sign
Drive out and look at the lot in person. Check the gate hours against how you actually travel, since a facility that closes at night is a problem if you roll in late. Walk your rig's length and width against the space and confirm the turning room at the entrance. Ask what the site does about battery maintenance and whether you can leave a trickle charger connected. Confirm your RV insurance covers the rig while it sits in storage, and get the access and security details in writing.
