About San Marcos River Resort

San Marcos River Resort sits on the banks of the San Marcos River in Fentress, a quiet stretch of Texas between San Marcos and the coast. Sites are mostly level concrete with some gravel, and the river is a short walk from your rig. San Marcos is about 25 minutes out, Austin and San Antonio roughly an hour. Guests keep coming back to the pool and hot tub, the big dog park, and the shaded trails along the water. Cabins and a treehouse are also on site, along with a small general store for things forgotten in town. The old-school playground and kid-friendly setup suit families. Reviews run mostly positive, with staff singled out for being helpful and kind. A few mention dirtier shower floors and fees for daytime visitors. It is a campground with RV sites, so confirm site type and rates directly with the office before you book.

“This is a beautiful rv park. My favorite parts were walking on the trails down by the river every day with the dogs almost all shaded. The hot tub & pool were a daily visit from us.” – Sha, 5 months ago, on Google
