Covered and indoor spots for Carolina sun
South Carolina sun is hard on gelcoat, decals, and tires, so covered space earns its keep here. Five facilities in Lexington offer covered parking and five have indoor bays. Indoor is the better call if you want the rig out of the weather entirely, though it costs you height clearance and usually means backing in with a spotter. Covered keeps the worst of the UV off the roof and AC units while leaving you room to walk around. Ask each facility about ceiling height and door width before you commit, because a fifth wheel with a front AC will not squeeze into every bay. Either way, swing by in person before signing. Look at the drainage and how the aisles turn.
What the ratings say
The two Extra Space Storage locations carry 4.9 ratings with 973 and 823 reviews, which is a lot of feedback for one market. Public Storage also rates 4.9 with 472 reviews and offers covered, indoor, and outdoor spots along with boat parking and 24/7 access. Storage Sense - Lexington sits at 4.8 with 225 reviews, and Mini Mall Storage is 4.7 with 252. LocalStorage rounds out the top names at 4.6 with 139 reviews. Read the recent reviews rather than the overall score. People tend to mention gate problems, lighting, and how the office handles a billing question, and those details tell you more than a star average.
Gated access and boat parking
Seven of the twelve facilities list 24/7 gate access, and that is the feature to check first if you tow a boat to Lake Murray on weekends. Gated entry shows up across most of the top names, and several list cameras and climate control. Boat parking appears at Public Storage, Storage Sense - Lexington, and Mini Mall Storage. Ask how the gate code works for guests and whether your code survives a late payment. Confirm the office hours too, since a facility can advertise round-the-clock entry while staff are only there part of the day. If you store outdoors, plan on a battery maintainer and a cover for the tires.

Questions people ask
How many RV storage facilities are in Lexington, SC?
There are 12 RV storage facilities listed in Lexington, with 12 more nearby. The average rating across them is 4.6. Five offer covered parking, five have indoor bays, and seven rent outdoor spots, so you have real choices depending on how much weather protection you want.
How many places offer 24/7 gate access?
Seven of the 12 facilities list 24/7 gate access. That is more than half, so late arrivals after a long drive home are workable. Confirm the gate code process and office hours with the facility directly, since staffed hours and gate hours are not always the same.
Is indoor or covered storage better for an RV?
Indoor keeps sun, rain, and hail off the whole rig and is the strongest option for UV protection. Covered costs less in most markets and still shields the roof and AC units. Check ceiling height and door width before choosing indoor, since tall fifth wheels and Class A coaches need clearance.
Can I park a boat at these facilities?
Boat parking is listed at Public Storage, Storage Sense - Lexington, and Mini Mall Storage. If you tow to Lake Murray, call ahead and ask about space for a trailer as well as the boat. Availability changes, and the listing feature does not guarantee an open spot on the day you call.
