Adel, IA
RV Storage in Adel, IA
Adel is a small Dallas County town west of Des Moines, and the storage scene here reflects that scale. There are just 3 RV storage facilities in town, with another 12 nearby, and the average rating sits at a strong 4.9. Two of the three local options are indoor, which matters in Iowa, where sun, hail, and hard winters all work on a rig left out in the open.

What Adel offers
The 3 facilities in Adel split between indoor and outdoor, with 2 offering indoor space and none covered-only lots. That means your realistic choice is a fully enclosed unit or an open pad, and the enclosed ones earn their keep in a place with real winter. Adel Boat & RV Storage and Lund Motors Adel both run indoor and outdoor spots, and both list climate control. Lund Motors also has gated access and lighting, which is worth asking about when you call. Westside Outdoor Storage is the open-air option. All three sit at 4.7 stars or better, so reviews do not thin the field much. Compare the gate hours and what access really looks like after dark.
Choosing between indoor and outdoor
Indoor storage costs more, no way around it, but it keeps UV off the roof and sides, and it keeps hail off everything. In central Iowa that is not a small thing. If you go outdoor, plan on a cover that breathes and a wash before winter sets in. Outdoor pads work fine for a rig you use often, and they are easier to pull in and out of on short notice. Indoor suits a trailer that sits for months. Either way, pull the batteries or put them on a maintainer, and ask the facility what they expect from you before the first freeze. Confirm your insurance covers the rig where it sits, not just on the road.
Around town
Adel sits right off Highway 169, which makes it a quick run from West Des Moines and the western suburbs, and the 12 nearby facilities give you room to widen the search if the 3 local spots are full. That is a real possibility with a town this size, so call ahead rather than showing up. Ask each place about gate hours and whether you can get in on a weekend, since smaller lots often keep tighter schedules. Bring the tape measure. Indoor units have height and door clearances that do not always match a taller fifth wheel, and it is better to find out in the office than at the door.

Questions people ask
How many RV storage facilities are in Adel?
There are 3 in Adel itself, plus 12 more nearby if you are willing to drive a bit. With only 3 local options, calling ahead before you commit is smart, especially if you need indoor space.
How many of them offer indoor storage?
Two of the 3 Adel facilities offer indoor storage. The third is outdoor only, and none are covered-only lots. So your choice comes down to a fully enclosed unit or an open pad.
Are the local facilities well rated?
Yes. The average rating across the Adel facilities is 4.9, and each one sits at 4.7 or higher. Review counts are small, so read the actual comments rather than leaning on the star average alone.
Do any Adel facilities have climate control?
Two list climate control as a feature: Adel Boat & RV Storage and Lund Motors Adel. Lund Motors also lists gated access and lighting. Both offer indoor and outdoor spaces, and both handle boats as well as RVs.
