Covered or indoor spots
Only four places in town list covered storage and another four offer indoor, so those fill up fast. If your rig sits for months at a stretch, a roof over it is worth the extra cost. UV and hail do slow damage to seals, decals and roof membrane. A covered spot at Toybox Recreational Storage or I-25 RV Storage keeps the worst of it off without a full building. Indoor is the step up if you want the gel coat and tires out of the weather completely. Call ahead on those four indoor spots because they turn over quickly.
Outdoor lots that earn their rating
Most of Cheyenne's storage is outdoor, and a few have the reviews to prove they run a tight lot. Storage Star on one location holds a 5.0 from 159 reviews, and its other site sits at 4.7 across 242 reviews. College Drive RV and Toy Storage scores 5.0 with a smaller sample and adds cameras and 24-hour access. Outdoor storage is fine for a season if the ground drains and the fence is real. Walk the lot before you sign and look for standing water, loose gravel and how close the next rig parks.
Access hours and what to check
Seven of the 24 locations advertise 24-hour access, which matters if you tow out early or roll in after dark. The rest keep gate hours, so ask what they are before you commit. A gate that locks at 8 p.m. is no good for a Friday night departure. Also confirm whether the lot is paved, lit and fenced, and ask if anyone lives on site. Storage Star and College Drive both list gated access, and a couple of lots add lighting and cameras. Those details separate a lot you trust from one you don't.
